Biking

Went 43 plus miles on Saturday and 20 today.Over 100 for the week, and feeling good. That's the plan ....biking a lot until I feel no pain in the foot. I hope to be able to run pain free by the time the winter building phase comes around.The fall racing season is not going to happen this time around so I'll trade the pounding for some pedaling. Hopefully I can maintain an aerobic level and build leg strength. That's the plan for now.

Return

After a lengthy bout of bike wreck recovery and some mystery foot pain,I have returned to the arena for another go. I have been able to maintain some cardio fitness through long bike rides so my 5 my run today was fairly comfortable. Out of curiosity I timed my 4th mile (6:20). For the most part I am relieved and satisfied to get that first return run under the belt (whatever that means).
I plan on continuing the bike/run combo as long as the late summer/fall/early winter weather allows it. Haven't set any race plans yet. Will wait to see how things go.
