COMEBACK PLAN

It's been an unrecognizable existence . Life without running and everything it brings is slow and boring. I want my running life back. I will attempt to make a comeback once again. Starting with 2 and 3 mile runs, I will build until I am running 40 miles in the last week of this year. I will listen to my body and do everything I can to prevent injury. I see myself back running for records when racing seaon starts in the spring.

Another setback

Since my last post, I sustained an injury to my right calf. A sharp pain deep in the belly of the muscle that burns further down to near the achilles tendon. After taking last week off, I began my return with a jog, stretch, jog stretch routine for 5 miles on Sunday. Then on Tuesday, I struggled through a muggy 7 miler. My injury seemed to be responding to the rest, and easy running. Today (thursday) I started out with 7 miles in mind. Things were clicking pretty good then suddeny at around the 4 mile mark, the sharp pain returned. I walked 2 miles back home. I was planning on running the Riverside 5k on saturday, but that is not happening now. I've got to try and rehab with ice, rest, and biking. Hopefully I will learn how to come back from injury. It is getting just a bit frustrating.
