Mother Nature rules. She decides if it's going to be an enjoyable 'feel good' run or a trudge-a-thon. Lately, she's been in the mood for slow and sweaty. Forced me to put plans for a blazing fast 5k (under 17:00) time on the shelf for awhile. Ran a 17:35 yesterday. Good for 2nd place overall and the 3rd fastest in Okie history for my age bracket. (I also happen to hold the 2nd fastest time of 17:06) Although there are faster times ahead, for now I've just got to to enjoy my fitness and be patient for the right conditions.Glad that I am able to move and breathe and feel strong and 'in the game' .
It's a slow pace out there but it's steady and there is a mission behind all the sweaty madness.
That's 42 for the week and 719 for the year. Weight routine 2 times a week. On the bike once or twice per week (10-15 miles.)

  • Stay in the game baby! Injury free and in shape is a great place to be, but also a delicate balance with "winning" on the other side of the teeter totter. You are one of the few that can balance them all at once. Great job at keeping it flowing with a positive attitude.
